wedding update

i have not been actively posting for the past 2 months i think. reason was--im not really doing anything for the wedding! bad me! so when my dear hubby to be took a 3 week vacation we were able to accomplish few of the wedding preps.

pic on the right is the interior of the Parish of the Holy Sacrifice hubby took during our ocular inspection. this is where the ceremony will take place. its not the long aisle type which means i better not have a long trailed gown. we already have an idea up our sleeve on how to make it look at its best with minimal expense. pero surprise na un :P

up here are the pics naman of the reception venue- phoenix avenue gazebo royale. L-R
entrance to phoenix ave; the function area in full lighting effect and the walk way to phoenix ave. amenities include a VIP room for the couple and immediate family, clean comfort rooms, drivers lounge, 2nd floor for the musicians, ponds with flowing water surrounding the area and ample parking space for the guests. they also allow pyrotechnic display but only from accredited supplier (Dragons).

next thing we did were to finalize details of the catering service and finalize the menu.
below are the mock set up of what we have chosen so far. letfmost is a 3 layer candelabra centerpiece. it looked plain kaya we opted to request for more "greens" to adorn the candelabra holders. florist agreed to add formosa vines and moss to give it more magical touch. middle pix is the close up of the centerpiece with red wine colored cross bow ties. rightmost are the basic flowers which include button mums, magenta mums, baby's breath very few roses are also included and as requested a lot of greens. set up is mounted on a circular glass piece to better reflect the light.

menu include:
appetizer - crispy spinach with dip
soup - cream of asparagus
salad - salad bar w/ thousand island dressing and caesars, hawaiian macaroni salad andwaldorf salad
hotbuffet - country style cheesy lasagna, Puttanesca Prima, Pastel de Lengua, Grilled bluemarlin w/ teriyaki sauce & lemon sauce (cooked on the spot), Pesto Chicken, Assorted vegetables w/ kernel corn, steamed rice

dessert - buco pandan w/ lychee, fruit salad and assorted pastries
drinks - iced tea, softdrinks, brewed coffee

we were also able to book our photographer and videographer with ADS wedding studio.

ayan palang so far!

Destination Mecca.. a.k.a. Divisoria!

i think its every bride's mecca to have a pilgrim down the pasilios of divisoria. im talking among our locals of course plus those that reside within the metro. so there i go with my eager mama who woke me up early in the morning coz she worry na we'll be running late for the preparations. we'll do canvas lang naman daw.. so there i go without money and cellphone! canvas lang eh! baka kasi mapabili pa ko e canvas lang muna talaga dapat. i decided to leave my cell behind coz i wanted to zero the risk of losing it. bad move! ayan i dont have any pictures to show tuloy specially on the laces and stuff that i saw would be useful. sadness..
so we canvassed fabric for my gown and my entourage. we decided on ivory dutches silk for my gown, and a mixture of chiffon, organza, and others which i cant recall for the entourage. the prices are fair and within budget so i just get their business cards and proceed to the next stall.
i saw the haven where i can buy the necessary beads and swarovsky for my cord, tiara, gown accent and other accessories. i placed everything i need in my mini basket and i nearly lined up on the cashier when i realized i didnt bring any money!! aarrrghhh!!
so i guess i'll show you nalang my downloaded pics of tiara look a like na i saw, just change the pearl into rhinestones. i will need to add more swarovsky to give it a glittering effect.
this naman is the garter that i have in mind. it has a victorian lace and i picked blue for my "something blue" i figured i'll just add a bit beads to give it an effect. ill remove din the ribbon. sayang talaga i cant show you the lace that i saw! hayy!
next stop is ongpin street to look for wedding rings. i was hopeful na i can find a similar ring to this one. but to no avail! so magpapa customized talaga. i asked for quotation and at least mas mura compared sa price sa mall. we'll work on the rings by december.
Dito ako natulala!!! we wanted this effect for the ring pillow since we're on a magical theme nga.. well guess what?! ive found one!!! a good one! catch is 800 sya! so tinawadan ko and i can get it for 550! but hooray! ala ako dalang money!!! nakaka cry talagaaaaaaaaa!!! i dont know if i can find pa the one with carriage, though i saw a lot of glass blown horses similar to this one.
sadness of sadness.. i really need to go back and pray..to my mecca.. I SHALL RETURN!

from scratch..to magic ( i wish!)

We started preparing way back ber months of 2004, i forgot na the exact date. the color motif is one thing that neither of us wont compromise.. so we just combined our own hearts desire. the color motif is fuschia/magenta & emerald green. we bought all papers sa national bookstore its kinda pricey pero it pays to prepare early kasi its like spending for a coffee lang. comment nga ni cecille e " a little shy of UP colors" well.. e ganun talaga! i hope you see the details in the white sheet. its really nice and smells nice too! all these lot are supposed to be used as invitation before.. they will still be but the white will be used as cover sa misalet nalang.

This naman is my own version of planner. ive always wanted to be a wedding planner so why not start with my own wedding diba? this is a half cooked gant chart. i dont target dates here, i only highlight the squares once that item is done. daming worksheets nito, pati accounting, guest list, entourage, payables, etc.

These naman are teasers lang. it took us quite some time to finalize the design ng mga outfit ng entourage. for those who wanted to see the whole pic just send me a message, these by the way ay na download lang din namin. i intend to put it this way to instill some element of surprise. fortunately, it wasn't hard for me to book a couturier. and thank heavens we're slicing bits from our budget! im proud of the choices we made, kasi these doesn't have much beadwork which made every gown expensive. the accents will mainly come from the quality of fabric itself and of course sa fit sa mga ladies. all gown will be two tones with green dominating the sponsors and bridesmaid. pero sa maid of honor... ibang usapan na un! L-R flowergirl, maid of honor, secondary sponsors, bridesmaid.

few of the things

first things first! when romar finally gave the date that he have in mind which is August 12, 2006, we started out planning AGAD! as in! 5 days after ko malaman ung date we already have the 3 big thing for the wedding reserved.. the church, reception and caterer. so here are two of the downloaded pics.

Parish of the Holy Sacrifice is that round church with only pillars supporting the dome shaped roof located inside UP Diliman campus. its just adjacent to my fave spot ever.. ang isawan lapit sa ylang dorm at bahay kalinaw! we chose this kasi we're looking for a good church in QC area na something old or with sentimental value. UPD may value samin kasi dun naging kami.. though the church isn't that old.

We booked our reception in Gazebo Royale and our number of guests fits in Phoenix Avenue. Im not quite sure if this is phoenix pero this pic is GR plus the caterer is Hizons. It just so happen that Mrs. Baby Hizon offered me good deals kaya good catch na din ang combo ng GR at Hizons. Wala pa kaming list ng details kasi we'll do that pag dating ni Honey Romar.

With special thanks sa aking colleague buddy na si owen for being my accomplice sa pagtakas para makapagpa reserve lang and syempre kay bob for your check at abunado ka pa! couldn't have done better! thankie!

trying hard to blog

Im your floating bride-to-be! still suspended in an overwhelming cloud of unspelled emotions which i hope are transitory.. coz i have yet to move down to my earth and orchestrate my own magical walk in the aisle to meet with my handsome prince! start wishing us luck! ive made several attempts to keep every phase of my wedding in fine tune 'till our big day. this blog is just one of those.. up there are my latest pics, the one on spag strap blouse with hair on one side is few minutes old lang. all are taken from my cellphony. i uploaded these to check on what changes will happen to my face once the dates started to creep in. tatah!

wish this works for me!

ok..finally i decided that i need a blog. thats it! i need a blog! so i came across several webby that offers free blogging.. why do i need one for? e kasi..currently im working on an orchestra of my life, where there is no defined strings, winds, conductor, what have you! basta ang meron lang.. a magical sound that would come from a perfect blend of lights, music, people, food, fabric, ribbons and bows, swarovskys, flowers..all intricately arranged with rythm constellated in smiles and hopeful dreams.. haayyy.. all that will stage on 12th of August 2006..

uuhmm.. ano ulet?
